Famous pastry chefs often make exclusive wedding cakes, charge immense rates, and are extremely busy.

Their names are known around the globe, and their pastry is beloved by celebrities. Like with designer clothes, such cakes proudly carry the chef’s name, which results in a higher price.

Rare ingredients also make a cake exclusive. Elements such as edible gold or Iranian pistachios require intense labor to source and cost a fortune. They aren’t typically used in regular cakes and thus make a wedding cake noteworthy.

Even if the ingredients aren’t particularly expensive, unique wedding cake flavors such as ginger spice or Grand Marnier may add to the exclusivity.

Although pastry chefs can make beautiful cake decorations using modern techniques, some brides prefer to get inedible cake toppers. These can be made from precious metals or have a highly intricate design requiring a lot of labor.
